The Miqat Mosque holds profound significance for visitors and worshippers embarking on religious rituals, particularly during pilgrimage (Hajj or Umrah). Situated at specific locations outside of Mecca, these mosques mark the boundary where pilgrims must enter into a state of consecration and purity before proceeding further. This act symbolizes spiritual preparation and readiness for the sacred journey ahead.
There are five designated Miqat points, each corresponding to different directions from Mecca:
  • Dhul-Hulayfa: Located to the northwest of Mecca, near the city of Medina.
  • Al-Juhfah: Positioned to the northwest of Mecca, near the city of Rabigh.
  • Qarn Al-Manazil: Situated to the east of Mecca, near the town of Taif.
  • Yalamlam: Found to the south of Mecca, near the city of Jeddah.
  • Dhat Irq: Located to the northeast of Mecca, near the city of Najd
